First flight much earlier than expected
It was November 12, 2021. The news that the first flight of the 2022 model Brompton has arrived came to the website of a shop. That model was the black edition of the Mid handle I had reserved, including the C Line Explore Mid handle with Rack. It was unknown at that time if Flame Lacquer came on the first flight. However, starting with the first report, information that Brompton 2022 model arrived on the website and YouTube came from various shops. Since the models are all Mid Handle models and all colors, the flame lacquer I reserved was almost confirmed as the first flight.

For the time being, on November 12, 2021, there was a time lag until the new Brompton was delivered to each store, so I was waiting for the information to be updated on the WEB. I was chasing the arrival information of various shops on the WEB until the evening, but the blog of Y’s Road Kawasaki store that I reserved is not updated at all. This day was also the day of the second inoculation of the corona vaccine, and I was fluttering from the morning. While I was waiting for the vaccination, I was chasing Brompton information on my smartphone, but after returning to my room in the evening, I decided to ask by phone.
After vaccination and dinner, I returned to my room and went around the website of the shop where the arrival information was available. Y’s Road Kawasaki store blog has not been updated. I couldn’t stand it around 6 pm and decided to call. When I called the Kawasaki store and talked to the person in charge of Brompton, he said that he had arrived at the Kawasaki store around 3 pm. And it was confirmed that the flame lacquer of C Line Explore Mid With Rack that I had reserved was also in stock. Then, maybe the person in charge guessed, if you specify the date, the car will be delivered and maintained according to it. This is lucky, so I made a reservation for delivery at the store on the evening of November 13th the next day. Brompton is a slightly more prestigious bicycle that is required by authorized dealers to be responsibly maintained and delivered and sold face-to-face. While I think that it is a fairly bullish sales strategy to sell only face-to-face in the situation of corona in the heyday of online shopping, I waited for the next day thinking that there is a sense of security that the car will be properly maintained and delivered just before delivery. rice field.

I used to do it myself, but Brompton has a lot of screws and washers, and if I make a mistake in the order, there is a possibility that the frame will be scratched, so I asked the staff who are accustomed to it. And although it is the essential 2022 model Brompton flame lacquer, the redness is slightly stronger as shown in the picture. Compared to the frame lacquer of 2021 and the regular era, it was a flame lacquer with a strong claim of red. It was a little different from what I expected, but I thought this was a good color. Custom color matching requires some image modification, but I’m wondering if it will work.

Next week. The tension at the time of delivery has calmed down a little, and I decided to shift to a full-scale custom next time. I spent my time quietly until Thursday, and left home on Thursday morning to drive to the LORO Setagaya store. It’s about an hour’s journey, and it’s about 10km. It took about 30 minutes on a road bike, but since it was my first Brompton, I ran a little carefully. It was my first time to drive on a small wheel bike, so I was a little scared, but I ran on a route that avoided the main road, so I didn’t feel scared more than I expected. It’s been a while since I ran my bicycle outside, so I was so upset that I forgot to take a picture of the LORO Setagaya store.

The staff at LORO Setagaya was a little scared at first sight because of their craftsmanship. I hope I can get to know it after going through several times. I think it will be a long relationship from now on until the front double, so I hope I can go there regularly. However, it’s still difficult to go by self-propelled frequently, so I’m thinking about buying some small parts from LORO’s mail order and installing them myself next month to make the tea muddy.
After the self-restraint of Corona, I want to start moving in various ways, but the period of self-restraint is too long and my body has not caught up yet.
